Culture: South Indian Classical Dancing
Although both of these photographs are from a dance festival in South India, the emotion on the faces of the dancers and lighting of the subjects have different affects on the audience. Each could be taken to reflect the song they were dancing to or the environment in which they danced. However, their style of clothing has a similar quality that reminds you of the Indian culture. Singhai’s photo looks to be at the point of a posed ending, completing the dance, where as TS Bedi’s photo feels like a portion of the people in any time of the the dance.
